Satellite Design – Tools

Working on a new product is like a dream of any engineer, when we approached the customer and was not sure of what we could offer to them as everything is new, the customer has proved us completely wrong. This opportunity has shown us that in new product development there are lots of areas that the design and engineering team has to focus on and seldom does not have time to see how they can speed up the process. The reason is that they constantly think about the product and its features but never think about how much time does it take to model and engineer one.

Our approach for this was to help the customer enginers with a Dynamic and Quality suite of solutions and then work on the Change Management and Search management Suites. Introduction to these tools has to lead to visualising lots of parameters not captured while designing and also using many non-standards and repetitive 3D models and Assemblies.

Introducing Batch Suites to update the important parameters and find out similar products and eliminate one of the products was something that was a help to set up company-wise standards across all models and assemblies. This opened up the customers the avenues to collaborate efficiently and effectively with the other departments and other designers and reduce duplications and improve turnaround time.

CitiusKBE also introduced various customised tools and solutions that could improve the design cycle, capture the entire process and also aid the designer to complete the design.

The customer has experienced Reduced Chaos, Reduced Variations, Improved search capacity, managed Changes using Change management, Improved design lead time, reduced design cost and improve design quality.
