In a BIW fixture design, defining the raw material sizes for all components is a painstaking, but important activity. Defining the right sized raw material will not only optimize the raw material cost, but also reduce the manufacturing times​

This app requires a customer-specific database for various types of raw materials such as plates, tubes, angles etc., along with their material  specifications and available sizes in the market​

This app has a tool that does the preparatory work of letting the user define the raw material type to be assigned for various components in a BIW fixture assembly​

The main raw material sizing app then takes over the job of assigning the right sizes of the raw material, by orienting the raw material till it minimizes the raw material.​

This task will be carried out for all the components, except the bought out or standard components.​

The raw material sizes information will be attached to the components so that they can be automatically retrieved in the BOM tables.​

This app also provides a HTML report that captures this report of raw materials assigned.​

This will cut down significantly the time required by the designers to generate the BOM information​
