Summary

When a BIW fixture 3D data is given for detailing, it is given, several times, in the form of a STEP file, where it is difficult to identify threaded hole / dowel hole / screw clearance hole information from the 3D model, which needs to be put on a drawing

The ‘Hole Identification’ app meets this requirement of finding out these hole details. This app can be configured to meet specific project requirements as well.

This app requires a customer-specific database for correlating the STEP data to hole features.  This information will then be assigned to the faces of the hole, so that a drawing app can read that information and create the necessary hole tables or hole dimensions​

The distinguishing feature of this app is that it will perform this task on all components of a BIW fixture assembly​​​

Thus this app carries out the preparatory tasks required for drawing automation, especially for capturing holes data and representing it in an appropriate manner on manufacturing drawing​
