Most common problem encountered during BIW fixture assembly is the mismatching holes between the components assembled. This is a minor problem, but costs heavily in terms of project schedule. The manual checking of every pair of mating components is a tedious process. The automation of this check not only improves the tool quality, but also does it in a much shorter time frame.
The ‘Hole Alignment Check’ app addresses this requirement. This app can be configured to meet specific project requirements as well.
This app, based on a user-specified criteria, identifies all mating components along with the mating faces, and the mating holes. This app can work on even non-parametric bodies and identify holes based on pre-defined criteria. These mating holes will be checked for the possible mismatches in axis and / or hole types.
The app provides a facility to color-code various types of Matching and mismatching hole pairs for easy visual identification.
A dynamic report during the verification process simplifies the validation process by the designers to enable prompt corrective measures.
A comprehensive HTML report with images of all mating components is generated as a checklist, which can be considered as a validation report.
